On May 16, the round table “MARITIME SERVICE INDUSTRY” was held in Mykolaiv with the support of the EBRD under the EU4Business initiative.

The event was held within the framework of the annual meeting of the European maritime community European Maritime Day (EMD), launched jointly by the European Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission in 2008 to exchange, discuss and prepare joint actions.

The event was attended by heads and managers of companies working in the field of shipbuilding, ship repair, design, trade, chartering, namely:

General Director of the Shipyard “Ocean”

Deputy Director of Mykolaiv Shipyard LLC

Director of Artel LLC

Director of MT Sudoservice LLC.

The event was also attended by the head of the Mykolaiv branch of OIL GROUP Golub Y.S.

The event was held for the second time. Last year, following the discussion of the current state of the maritime service industry in the South of Ukraine, an interregional working group on the development of the maritime service industry was formed. As a result of a year’s work, the working group prepared a concept for the creation of the Cluster and formed an asset of enterprises ready to unite in a cluster for the development of the industry and their own business.

The establishment of the Maritime Service Cluster was announced during the round table.
